The Executive Chairman of the Centre for Anti-Corruption and Open Leadership (CACOL), Mr Debo Adeniran, has described the rejection of Mr Ibrahim Magu for the second time as the substantive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as a demoralizing. According to him, the rejection is one which can only serve the interest of pro-corruption elements who are hell-bent on killing the country’s anti-corruption drive. This position was made known in a statement signed by the group’s Media Coordinator, Wale Salami. As someone who has been in that corridor recently, I do not share the view of those who insist that President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent 50-day medical vacation was mismanaged by his  handlers, up to this point. I said this much during a recent interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today with Seun Okinbaloye. In the face of the people’s rising and insatiable expectations, it is often an uphill task to balance so many considerations in a country that is so divided on all fronts.  The duty of the President’s handlers is to prevent such unnecessary news that could destabilize the polity, or create a national security crisis.
