#UTME2017: 120 Prison Inmates to write Forthcoming Exam

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says about 1.7 million candidates registered for this year’s  Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) including 120 prison inmates who will also sit for the examination. The Registrar of the board, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede , disclosed this at a news conference on Friday in Abuja. He also confirmed the examination had not been postponed and will hold on Friday, May 13 except for those that have Seven Days Adventist service. He also advised UTME candidates to always check their e-mails for further updates, noting that some candidates are fond of giving out their passwords and e-mail addresses to strangers in spite of several warnings from the board. “Candidates should be aware of fraudsters who hide under cyber cafe operators to defraud innocent children. We have caught some of them while mischievously collecting money from candidates with the help of some security officers,’’ he said. Source: Punchng

THE Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has urged prospective candidates for its Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to crosscheck the data on their registration forms for the last time on May 6. The board’s Head of Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made the call in an interview with the News Agency if Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lagos. The call comes ahead of the 2017 UTME scheduled for May 13 across 633 centres nationwide. NAN reports that registration of candidates for the examination was closed by the board by 12 midnight on Friday, May 5. According to Benjamin, the call for the crosschecking of data by prospective candidates was to ensure total inclusiveness. He added that the board intended to ensure that no candidate was left out during the examination due to one reason or the other. “All candidates who desire to do any change on their registration details are urged to do so today as the platform closes finally by 9 p.m. ...

Visit the JAMB portal at www.jamb.org.ng/efacility/ . PS: Do not use MTN or GLO Network to Visit the Jamb Portal. 2. Login with your profile email and password 3. Click on “Result Notification” among the list of services and click on “UTME Examination (Mock)” . 4. UTME 2017: JAMB Says Awaiting Results Candidates Can Apply

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has clarified its position on candidates awaiting results being able to write admission examinations into tertiary institutions. The examination body had initially barred candidates without their Ordinary Level results from sitting for the Universities Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). The board’s initial stand was based on the fact that many institutions have admitted candidates on merit only for them to discover that such candidates do not have qualified O’levels results or the right combination for admission. Such schools had to delete and start the process all over again, thereby denying other qualified candidates the opportunities for admissions, JAMB said initially. However, JAMB on Thursday said candidates awaiting results are eligible to register and sit for the UTME exams. JAMB begins sales of form For 2017 UTME

Yesterday, Monday March 13, The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board made an announcement on its plans for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME. They also revealed the date that the forms will begin sale. Through their twitter handle @JAMBHQ, the board said that sale of forms would begin as from Monday March 20 and it will span through to April 19 when sales will finally end. The examination will hold between May 6 and 20.
