The Secretary to the government of the Federation, Mr. Babachir David Lawal has been summoned to appear before Senate Ad-hoc Committee investigating him over mismanagement of Internally Displaced Persons funds. A letter addressed to SGF and signed by the ad-hoc committee chairman, Senator Shehu Sani, asked Lawal to further clear himself. 2. An Abuja Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Tuesday granted former Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Andrew Yakubu, N300m bail. The trial judge, Justice A. R. Mohammed, ordered Yakubu who is facing money laundering charge, to also produce two sureties in like sum. 3. The Senate on Wednesday, for the second time rejected the request from President Muhammadu Buhari to confirm Ibrahim Magu as substantive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. The senate said Magu failed an integrity test, hence their decision. 2. Several persons were yesterday killed after suspected suicide bombers attacker Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. The attack, which occurred at the Muna garage in Maiduguri, left many persons dead and several others injured. 3. The Senate has finally agreed to issue a warrant of arrest to compel the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), retired Col. Hammed Ali, to appear before it today.
