‘Davido is being investigated because his response is suspicious’ – Police Commissioner Imohimi Edgal

Lagos State Police Commissioner, Imohimi Edgal, who was the guest today on Channels Television Breakfast Show, Sunrise, talked about Tagbo’s death and why Davido is being investigated. According to him, the singer’s response to the alleged murder incident is suspicious, which is why he’s being investigated. “I asked Davido that, ‘When you left that bar, did you have anything again to do with the deceased?’ What he said was that he was only informed by mutual friends in some other bar that the deceased had died and I took his word for it. “I called for further investigations, pulled the CCTV cameras from the General Hospital, only to discover that it was Davido’s escort Hilux van, his driver, his friends that brought Tagbo Umeike (the deceased) dead and dumped in the hospital then fled the scene.” Imohimi said this response by Davido raises suspicion, and that is what is been investigated by the police. “That raises curiosity and of course that’s what we are investi...

3 NDLEA officials killed by unknown gunmen in Kogi State

Three out of the six officers of the National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), were killed by unknown gunmen while on their duty post around Federal College of Education (FCE) Okene by 8:30pm. The death of the officers identified as Onwumere Nicholas, Peter Ebun and Abraham Musa has been confirmed by the State’s commandant of the agency, Idris Bello. Idris also disclosed that NDLEA will be working with other security agency in the state, to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous act.

Court Orders Forfeiture of Diezani’s House in Banana Island

The Federal High Court in Lagos has on Wednesday ordered the seizure of a property located in Banana Island area of Lagos State belonging to former Minister of Petroleum Resources Allison-Madueke Diezani . The property, according to Punch , was bought in 2013 for $37.5m. The property reportedly contains 24 apartments, made up of 18 flats and 6 penthouses, according to court documents presented at the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The court also ordered the seizure of funds amounting to $2,740,197.96 and N84,537,840.70, which was reportedly rent received on the property. Anselem Ozioko , counsel for EFCC, told the judge Justice Chuka Obiozor  that Diezani made the $37.5m payment for the purchase of the property in cash, moving the money from her house into the seller’s account in First Bank, both in Abuja. 74-yr-old man rapes 4-yr-old granddaughter in Kano, attempts to rape another 5-yr-old daughter of his neighbour

A 74-year-old Kano resident, Ashiru Suleiman has been remanded in prison custody by a Kano Magistrate court for allegedly raping his granddaughter, DailyPost learnt. Suleiman was arraigned before the court for defiling his 4-yr-old granddaughter and making attempt to rape another 5-yr-old daughter of his neighbour. The accused person, who was charged under section 283 of the Penal Code Law, was said to have lured his victims into former Shari’ah court’s building at Rijiyar Lemo to commit the offence. The case was reported to the police by one Suleiman Muhammad, the charge sheet, said. “Suleiman criminally deceived and lured his granddaughter and his neighbour’s daughter, aged 5, into Shari’ah court premises and raped his grandoughter. He was caught while trying to rape the second girl,” it added. The court also heard that the victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment of some injuries she sustained. Policemen detained for chaining suspect to generator over ATM card

Three policemen attached to the Bariga Police Division, Lagos State, have been detained for allegedly chaining a suspect to a generator at the station. Although the identities of the erring cops were not disclosed, they were said to be facing orderly room trial for the misconduct. This is just as the state police command identified one Samson Agbetoye, aka Goldie, and Babatunde Saka, aka Anger, as the two principal suspects involved in the killing of Rasaq Bello, aka Hamburger, a former treasurer of the state Tricycle Operators Association, a branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers. Hamburger was murdered in Sogunle, Oshodi, on May 29 after the council primaries of the All Progressives Congress in the area turned violent.   The police in Imo State yesterday confronted a six man dear-devil armed robbery gang in a gun duel that lasted for over a half hour in the Orlu Local Government Area of the state. While four out of the six hoodlums escaped, the Police officers killed one and arrested the only female criminal among the gang . Three more men have been arrested in Manchester in connection with the attack that left at least 22 people dead at Manchester Arena.   Greater Manchester Police said the arrests were made in the south of the city, where a 23-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with Salman Abedi's bombing on Tuesday . Court Orders Permanent Forfeiture of N449.6m Seized by EFCC

A Federal High Court on Friday in Lagos ordered the final forfeiture of the N449.6 million found in an abandoned Bureau de Change at Victoria Island to the Federal Government. The money was recovered in Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) . The forfeiture order was made by Justice Mohammed Aikawa , following a motion on notice taken before him by the anti-graft agency. The judge ordered that the money should be forfeited to the Federal Government as nobody had come forward to claim it. On April 19, Aikawa ordered temporary forfeiture of the money and adjourned for one Mohammed Tauheed , who was joined as a respondent or any other interested party to appear. When the case was called on Friday, Counsel to the EFCC, Idris Mohammed , told court that the interim order of April 19 was advertised in a newspaper on May 11, to bring the case to the notice of Tauheed and any interested party. NDLEA Nabs Two Grandmothers For Possession Of Cocaine At Lagos Airport

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested two grandmothers with narcotics at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) , Lagos, while on their way to the U.S and Saudi Arabia. ‎ NDLEA spokesperson, Mr Mitchell Ofoyeju disclosed this in a statement on Saturday. He said the‎ suspects allegedly ingested 108 wraps of substances that tested positive for heroin and cocaine during outward screening of passengers at the MMIA, Lagos. He said that the‎ NDLEA commander at the Lagos airport, Ahmadu Garba gave the names of the suspected drug traffickers as Ebunoluwa Adebayo , 60, and Ayisat Amodu , 59. Oil mogul and billionaire, Ifeanyi Ubah has been arrested by men of the Department of State Security Services over N11bn oil theft. Ifeanyi Ubah, the managing director of Capital Oil and Gas Limited has been arrested by the Department of State Services. The agency revealed the arrest today in a statement by spokesman, Tony Opuiyo. Opuiyo said Ubah was arrested on Friday in connection the theft of petrol kept in his tank farm in Lagos by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. The product was valued at over N11 billion. The agency said Ubah’s action amounted to economic sabotage, with “capacity to negatively impact on national economy”. Opuiyo gave additional reasons for Ubah’s arrest. The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has arrested a cab driver, Kingsley Chijioke, while robbing his passengers at gunpoint along Goffina Village, Zuba, Niger State. The Force stated that Chijioke’s accomplices however escaped on sighting police operatives. The FCT police spokesman, Manzah Anjuguri, in a statement on Thursday advised residents to be vigilant when boarding taxis. Yesterday night, at about 10:30PM, a young man named Ndubueze Diego a.k.a JaBoy who is said to be a fresh graduate from Imo State University was said to have been shot dead by group of men suspected to be cultists. The young man met his untimely end after he dropped a lady at DaVita Hostel, Aladinma Students Alliance located close to Imo state university back gate. The suspected cultists shot at him three times in the head and chest at a close range before they took to their heels leaving him lifeless in a pool of his blood. Before now, Imo state university has been linked many times to cult related killings. A source further revealed that there is a current rivalry war going on in the institution between two different fraternities.
