Fulani Herdsmen Cut Off Man's Toes And Fingers Inside His Farm In Abraka

It has been reported that some suspected herdsmen have chopped off the fingers and toes of a farmer identified as Osakwe Benard, in Abraka, Delta State, for trying to stop them from grazing their herd on his farm. Vanguard reports that the man, Osakwe Benard, 48, and a father of five, narrowly escaped death as his assailants fled the scene after his cry attracted other farmers in the area, who rescued him. MASSOB orders members to register for PVC

The leadership of the Movement for a Sovereign State of Biafra has urged its members to register en mass at the ongoing continuous permanent voter card registration. A statement issued in Owerri , the Imo State capital on Friday by MASSOB National Secretary, Ibem Ugwuoke, said that the decision to order its members to register for PVCs was reached in a meeting presided over by its leader , Uchenna Madu . The statement said that the PVC would be useful for MASSOB in the nearest future in its quest for a sovereign state , not just for election in 2019. “ MASSOB orders all Biafrans that are constitutionally eligible to vote to immediately go for voter registration card in the nearest INEC office . The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity  Femi Adesina has revealed that the son of the president  Yusuf Buhari is ready to be discharged from the hospital, Punch reports. Yusuf Buhari had been admitted after he suffered a head injury and a broken rib following a bike accident he was involved in. Yusuf had been operated upon and doctors had reported that he was in stable condition. While Yusuf was admitted in Cedarcrest Hospital , Abuja, several reports had claimed that he was to be flown to Germany for further treatment. Another Nationwide Blackout Looms As Explosion Hits Escravos Gas Pipeline Again

There might be blackout in some parts of the country following the fresh explosion that has rocked the Escravos-to-Lagos (ELP) located in Nigeria’s Niger Delta region, barely four days after repairs, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation said on Thursday. It is understood that this has led to a drop in the generation of power from hydropower plants by 494 megawatts in six days. It was gathered that a heavy explosion rocked the pipeline criss-crossing the Ugbokodo community near the Warri refinery in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State. It was also learnt that the explosion was as a result of leaks from a gas pipeline in the community, which had earlier been reported to the management of the NGC. However, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has said that repairs have commenced immediately on the facility in order to address the fresh incident. 18-year-old secondary school student shot dead by a policeman in Bayelsa (Photos)

Corporal David Napoleon, a police officer attached to the Department of Operations at the Bayelsa State Police Command shot and killed a Senior Secondary School Student identified as Joseph Tomizibe on Thursday, October 26. The incident which happened in Kpansia community, sparked protest with residents blocking the road and causing traffic gridlock along the busy Yenagoa-Mbiama road. The policeman was said to have been arrested, disarmed and detained for further investigations. But the intervention of Yenagoa Caretaker Committee Chairman, Oforji Oboku, calmed frayed nerves and stopped the angry residents from attacking a traffic policeman in the area. 3 NDLEA officials killed by unknown gunmen in Kogi State

Three out of the six officers of the National Drug and Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), were killed by unknown gunmen while on their duty post around Federal College of Education (FCE) Okene by 8:30pm. The death of the officers identified as Onwumere Nicholas, Peter Ebun and Abraham Musa has been confirmed by the State’s commandant of the agency, Idris Bello. Idris also disclosed that NDLEA will be working with other security agency in the state, to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous act.

8 Confirmed Dead, 15 Rescued As Building Collapses In Lagos Island

At about 2pm yesterday 25th of July eyewitnesses called the Toll-free emergency line 112 to report that a building had collapsed at No 3 Massey street, Lagos Island. The Emergency responders immediately left base for the scene. As at 7pm last night, 5 children and 10 adults had been rescued. 20 hours after the collapse, the recovery operation is still ongoing by the emergency responders of the LASEMA Response Unit and other responder agencies searching through the debris with Heavy duty and light rescue equipment to ensure that they are no other victims trapped in the rubble. Once the site has been declared stable, reclamation will commence. It is a great relief to know that Lagos State now has a robust Emergency rescue team with the appropriate equipment at its disposal to attend to such emergencies swiftly. The days when emergencies like this occur and we have inadequate manpower or had to rely on construction companies to respond to such incidents are long gone. ...

Court Orders Forfeiture of Diezani’s House in Banana Island

The Federal High Court in Lagos has on Wednesday ordered the seizure of a property located in Banana Island area of Lagos State belonging to former Minister of Petroleum Resources Allison-Madueke Diezani . The property, according to Punch , was bought in 2013 for $37.5m. The property reportedly contains 24 apartments, made up of 18 flats and 6 penthouses, according to court documents presented at the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). The court also ordered the seizure of funds amounting to $2,740,197.96 and N84,537,840.70, which was reportedly rent received on the property. Anselem Ozioko , counsel for EFCC, told the judge Justice Chuka Obiozor  that Diezani made the $37.5m payment for the purchase of the property in cash, moving the money from her house into the seller’s account in First Bank, both in Abuja. The Oyo State Police Command, Monday, confirmed the death of one person in the violence that trailed the public outing of the Ege masquerade in the Egungun festival in Ibadan on Sunday. The police spokesman in the state, ASP Adekunle Ajisebutu, told newsmen in Ibadan that two suspects were also arrested in connection with the incident. Violence had marred the Egungun festival on Sunday as many residents were assaulted while property were destroyed. The festival, which often featured displays by masquerades, is meant to showcase the rich culture and tradition of Ibadan land. Ajisebutu, however, said that the command had beefed up security in the area where the Egungun festival was taking place. He said the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude, had warned all masquerades and their followers to refrain from violence. Justine Damond, who also uses the name Justine Ruszczyk, was at home on Saturday night when she called 911 to report a noise and a possible assault in an alley in South Minneapolis, Minnesota. While police did not have body cameras switched on during the shooting, sources with knowledge of the incident claim the officers arrived at the alley at 11.30pm on Saturday night. A 74-year-old Kano resident, Ashiru Suleiman has been remanded in prison custody by a Kano Magistrate court for allegedly raping his granddaughter, DailyPost learnt. Suleiman was arraigned before the court for defiling his 4-yr-old granddaughter and making attempt to rape another 5-yr-old daughter of his neighbour. The accused person, who was charged under section 283 of the Penal Code Law, was said to have lured his victims into former Shari’ah court’s building at Rijiyar Lemo to commit the offence. The case was reported to the police by one Suleiman Muhammad, the charge sheet, said. “Suleiman criminally deceived and lured his granddaughter and his neighbour’s daughter, aged 5, into Shari’ah court premises and raped his grandoughter. Policemen detained for chaining suspect to generator over ATM card

Three policemen attached to the Bariga Police Division, Lagos State, have been detained for allegedly chaining a suspect to a generator at the station. Although the identities of the erring cops were not disclosed, they were said to be facing orderly room trial for the misconduct. This is just as the state police command identified one Samson Agbetoye, aka Goldie, and Babatunde Saka, aka Anger, as the two principal suspects involved in the killing of Rasaq Bello, aka Hamburger, a former treasurer of the state Tricycle Operators Association, a branch of the National Union of Road Transport Workers. Hamburger was murdered in Sogunle, Oshodi, on May 29 after the council primaries of the All Progressives Congress in the area turned violent. Katsina Governor Makes Alarming Biafra Comments

The governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari has in an interview recently said that the dream of Biafra can never become a reality. Masari, who described the agitations as an expression freedom, said it is just like the time when Boko Haram wanted to declare sovereignty, and Oodua People’s Congress were making different agitations. The Ikeja, Lagos residence of former Chief of General Staff, retired Lt. General Oladipo Diya, has been gutted by fire. A thick smoke was seen bellowing from the residence being guarded by military men. Fire fighters battled for hours to put out the fire. The exact cause of the fire was not immediately known. It was also not clear if the retired general was in the house at the time of the incident or if there was any casualty.

UK deports 35 Nigerians for immigration offences

35 Nigerians comprising 30 males and five females, were today deported by the government of the United Kingdom for committing immigration-related offences. The deported Nigerians arrived the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMlA) Lagos in a chartered Titanic airways aircraft at about 5.50 a.m. Recall that in March, the UK also deported 23 Nigerians for immigration related offences.
