It has been reported that some suspected herdsmen have chopped off the fingers and toes of a farmer identified as Osakwe Benard, in Abraka, Delta State, for trying to stop them from grazing their herd on his farm. Vanguard reports that the man, Osakwe Benard, 48, and a father of five, narrowly escaped death as his assailants fled the scene after his cry attracted other farmers in the area, who rescued him. A Fulani socio-cultural organisation, the Gan Allah Fulani Development Association of Nigeria (GAFDAN), has given what seems to be like a hint that will likely put an end to the conflicts between farmers and herders in Benue State and other states. According to the group, the government of Nigeria has “from time immemorial” relegated the Fulani herdsmen to the background where they have never been allowed to exercise any right in the country like other citizens.   A horrible accident has occurred along the Onitsha - Enugu express road, just near upper Iweka and leaving a pregnant woman, a keke napep driver and passengers all dead. The Oyo State Police Command, Monday, confirmed the death of one person in the violence that trailed the public outing of the Ege masquerade in the Egungun festival in Ibadan on Sunday. The police spokesman in the state, ASP Adekunle Ajisebutu, told newsmen in Ibadan that two suspects were also arrested in connection with the incident. Violence had marred the Egungun festival on Sunday as many residents were assaulted while property were destroyed. The festival, which often featured displays by masquerades, is meant to showcase the rich culture and tradition of Ibadan land. Ajisebutu, however, said that the command had beefed up security in the area where the Egungun festival was taking place. He said the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Odude, had warned all masquerades and their followers to refrain from violence.    Some men of the Nigerian Police Force have been accused of killing Benjamin Wankaa, an event MC and a 300 level Mineral Resources student of Kaduna Polytechnic. According to reports, on Sunday, June 25th, Wankaa popularly known as MC Cedar, and four other occupants including his sister, cousin and friend were stopped by a team of policemen on their way home from a night party, which he anchored.  They identified themselves as a student of the Kaduna Polytechnic, by producing the school ID card. However, four of them were whisked away in a patrol van, leaving behind Benjamin with another patrol team. While still in custody, the police officers informed them that Benjamin escaped from them. The next day, his body was found on the highway with broken hands and legs, an indication that he was probably tortured. An 8-year-old girl has died in Lagos after she was beaten to death by her female employer. The suspect, who is a mother-of-two and pregnant with her third, was reportedly in the habit of maltreating the victim and a second house help living with her. According to neighbours, the suspect, known as Oby in her neighbourhood in Isolo, 'usually beats and overworks' the deceased, Miracle Edegwu, and her colleague. She had also withdrawn both girls from school after she brought them from Anambra state to Lagos. When neighbours confronted her about the way she treated the girls, she remained defiant and told them to mind their business. Early on Saturday morning, she launched another attack on the little girl, leading to her death. A 69-year-old man died of a heart attack while masturbating live on camera on a popular LGBT website. The man who is married to a woman and lives in Eastern Pennsylvania was livestreaming his masturbation to an LGBT audience when he began feeling chest pains and fell unconscious. The mother of the 22-year old student of Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) who allegedly committed suicide earlier this week, has narrated the events of the day the tragic incident occurred. Son stabbed his father to death with a kitchen knife after he forgot to add fish sauce to his favourite pork soup.Sakdin Duangphakhon, 36, bought the meat for lunch but became angry after dad, Ngor, 65, was taking too long to boil it at their home in Buriram in southern Thailand. He confronted his father and then flew into a rage when his dad told him he had forgot to add fish sauce – a staple ingredient in Thai cooking. Stutern, a Lagos-based online platform has published the salary distribution of employed graduates in Nigeria. Stutern carries out studies on employment in Nigeria and Nigerian universities and this year, they created something called the Nigerian Graduate report. According to the report released, statistics were obtained between 2010-2016. Stutern embarked on a study into the salary distribution of employed graduates and below is what was found out. 1. More than 50% of Nigerians currently earn N50,000 or less on a monthly basis. 2. 1 in 4 new graduates earn less than N20,000 monthly as starting salary. 3. Over 80% of employed graduates currently earn not more than N150,000 per month. 4. Most graduates earn between N20,000 – N50,000 monthly both as starting salary and current salary. 5. Only about 1.92% earn above N150,000 monthly.
