Imo won’t pull down Zuma’s statue, says Okorocha

Following the forced resignation of Jacob Zuma as the President of South Africa , owing to corruption allegations , the Imo State government says the statue it erected in honour of the embattled ex-President will not be pulled down. Okorocha had in October hosted Zuma in Owerri , where his statue was unveiled; a chieftaincy title was conferred on him and a major road was named after him . But , reacting to calls by some persons for the statue to be removed after his resignation , a statement on Friday by the governor ’ s Chief Press Secretary , Mr. Sam Onwuemeudo , said Zuma , who he said did not receive any formal education , rose to play a major role in the freedom of the people of South Africa . MASSOB orders members to register for PVC

The leadership of the Movement for a Sovereign State of Biafra has urged its members to register en mass at the ongoing continuous permanent voter card registration. A statement issued in Owerri , the Imo State capital on Friday by MASSOB National Secretary, Ibem Ugwuoke, said that the decision to order its members to register for PVCs was reached in a meeting presided over by its leader , Uchenna Madu . The statement said that the PVC would be useful for MASSOB in the nearest future in its quest for a sovereign state , not just for election in 2019. “ MASSOB orders all Biafrans that are constitutionally eligible to vote to immediately go for voter registration card in the nearest INEC office . That possession of the Nigeria ’s voter card is not merely for Nigeria ’s elections only but for Biafra Referendum as the only identification card for eligibility of the people that will determine the future of Biafra actualisation through a United Nations observed referendum.

Imo based Radio Presenter, Nonso Nkwa Calls Hardy Nwadike a Common Blogger

Darling FM Owerri presenter Nonsonkwa has hit back at Chinedu Hardy Nwadike, calling the blogger an “accidental discharge” and someone who came into the entertainment industry by chance. Following statement by Hardy who took a swipe on OAPs in Imo state, calling on them to package more in their appearances, Nonsokwa got furious, responding to the Hardy by saying; “I read with dismay what one Hardy wrote about OAPs and I laugh and I wonder who the hell the guy is in the show biz industry. It’s unfortunate that a common Blogger could insult a profession as old as Radio Broadcasting” Aside calling Hardy a ‘Common Blogger’, Nonsokwa also said that Hardy is one of those who believe that dressing makes a mock. “Hardy no doubt is one of those who came into the show Biz by accident and who believe that dressing makes the mock. Blogger Hardy Nwadike Urges Imo OAPs To Repackage

Mr. Chinedu Hardy Nwadike the Founder of OtownGist Media & Entertainment has frowned at the common nature of OAPs in Imo State, adding that if they don’t repackage, there won’t be anything special about them again. Hardy who is the President of Imo State Bloggers Association, said the profession has lost its flare as some people in it don’t even understand the weight they carry. He said; “I often hide my face when I hear some people I meet are OAPs. They might have the swagger on radio but when you meet them, you don’t just feel that aura of someone you listen to over the radio” “The packaging is just too poor and some of them don’t even dress 30% of the way someone in showbiz should.
